The Story
So today after work I caved and grabbed an Uber home. I know, I know, I could’ve just hopped on the bus and saved the cash, but sometimes you just want to hit fast-forward on the commute and be done.
Funny twist though: when I saw who my driver was, it ended up being the same guy from yesterday. Let’s just say the car smelled… not amazing. Cancelled immediately. Did a little “walk-to-distance” shuffle to reset my pickup spot and laughed it off.

On my walk, I remembered a newspaper piece about how downtown businesses have been struggling under some of the city council’s latest changes. One of the places mentioned was a cozy coffee shop and bakery, so I detoured over and picked up two slices of chocolate banana cake for Chris and me to enjoy after dinner. No way I was passing that up.

Finally got home and cooked up Sweet & Sour Pineapple Chicken. This time I went with the air fryer method instead of deep-frying and wow , air-fried breaded chicken came out crispy and golden. The sauce? Honestly delicious enough to stand on its own. Chris gave it the full seal of approval, which always feels like a big win.
Tonight’s cooking drink: a cheeky GINger Mule.🍹

Until next time!
