After Work Drinks, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Bowling Nights

The Story

A little tavern stop, a cozy dinner, and a close game

I clocked out of work and honestly, the only move I had in me was heading straight for the tavern. Faith was down for it, so we grabbed a couple of weak ass drinks (you know the kind that taste like soda but cost like tequila). It was more about sitting there, unwinding, and laughing about dumb little things than it was about the drinks anyway.

By the time we left, my stomach was already thinking about dinner. At home, I pulled out the chicken breasts and crushed up some Ritz crackers—time for Chicken Cordon Bleu. I love stacking the mozzarella and ham inside like a little surprise pocket and sealing it up with all that crispy coating. While those were sizzling golden, I tossed baby potatoes and carrots into the air fryer. Roasted until soft inside but with those caramelized edges that make you snack on them straight from the basket. Dipped everything into a puddle of thousand island dressing because… balance.

Once dinner was done, Chris and I headed out together for bowling. Felt good to switch from kitchen vibes to neon lights and the clatter of pins. It was a close one the whole way through, like every frame had us smack-talking and groaning. Tight game, but yeah… he pulled the win. Guess I’ll just call it “saving my strikes for next time.”That’s the whole vibe—little moments stacked together: weak drinks, crispy dinner, and a tight game that ends with good company.
