About

The Story

Hey! I’m Dade — home cook, recipe creator, and pretty convinced that most meals are improved with an extra clove of garlic.

How This All Started

A few years back, I started sharing the occasional recipe on my personal blog. Nothing serious, just things I was cooking and wanted to remember. Then something unexpected happened — people actually started making my recipes and reaching out to say they loved them. That was it. I was hooked.

Now I’m here sharing simple, crave-worthy meals that anyone can pull off. No culinary training, no fancy equipment, just real food for real kitchens.

Come cook with me. Fair warning: there will be messes.

What You’ll Find Here

I keep things cozy, simple, and full of flavor:

  • Weeknight dinners that won’t have you chained to the stove
  • Freezer-friendly stuff for when you need to get ahead on meal prep
  • Comfort food with a bit of a kick (and definitely lots of garlic)
  • Better-for-you options that don’t taste like punishment
  • The occasional cocktail, dip, or side because balance matters

Nothing fussy. Just food you’ll actually want to eat.

A Little More About Me

Since we’re hanging out in my corner of the internet, here’s the non-recipe stuff:

  • My kitchen is always stocked with Garlic, Chili Crisps, and about fifteen different hot sauces I’m still working through.
  • I am a firm believer that crispy edges make everything better. Brussels sprouts, brownies, it all counts.
  • I will take any excuse to dunk something into something else.
  • Comfort food for me is pasta with a truly unreasonable amount of cheese, cut with a bit of lemon to keep it interesting.

I keep it real. My kitchen isn’t perfect, I eyeball a lot of measurements, and some nights dinner is literally just toast with peanut butter. But that’s what makes cooking fun — it’s messy, it’s flexible, and it’s always better when you share it.

So… About Those Photos

When I first started this blog, I used AI-generated images for my recipes. Think of them as the “highlight reel” version of what I was cooking — polished, perfect lighting, every garnish in place.

It helped me get the blog off the ground without needing professional food photography skills (or a professional camera, honestly). Those early images helped me visualize what I wanted this space to become.

But things have changed. Now the photos you see are mine — actual dishes, made in my actual kitchen, shot with whatever light I had that day. It’s been a fun evolution, and honestly? I love that what you see is exactly what comes out of my kitchen now.

Some older recipes still have those glossy AI photos while I work through remaking them. I’ll get there — no rush, right?

AI still helps me with editing and polishing my posts because honestly, who doesn’t appreciate a second pair of eyes? But every recipe starts with me. I cook it, eat it, adjust it, and then tell you all about it.

Think of it like upgrading from a food processor to a good chef’s knife — same food, just a more intentional approach to getting there.
